ARCHIE GRIFFIN AND PAUL PASQUALONI JOIN LFG HONORARY BOARD

EASTON, PA (Mar. 22, 2012) – Lauren’s First and Goal is excited to welcome two-time Heisman Trophy winner Archie Griffin and University of Connecticut head football coach Paul Pasqualoni to its Honorary Board of Directors. Both Griffin and Pasqualoni spoke at last year’s Lauren’s First and Goal Football Camps.

“We are very thankful to both Coach Pasqualoni and Mr. Griffin for lending their support to LFG by joining our honorary board of Directors,” said LFG founder Marianne Loose. “Not only are they dedicated and respected members of the college football community, but they also lead by example in volunteering their time and talents to help others.”

As honorary board members, these gentlemen will help to promote the foundation´s mission of providing financial support for brain tumor research and cancer services, offering financial and emotional support to families living with pediatric cancer, and increasing awareness of the disease.

A three-time All-American at Ohio State University, Griffin was a first-round draft choice of the Cincinnati Bengals in 1976. He served as co-captain and played with the franchise for seven years before returning to Ohio State, where he now is Senior Vice President for Alumni Relations and President and CEO of the Ohio State Alumni Association. In addition, Griffin is very active in the community and with numerous charitable organizations.

“Lauren's First and Goal Foundation does wonderful work helping young people and their families who are battling pediatric cancer,” Griffin said. “The support for families and effective fundraising work provided by the Foundation is just outstanding, and I'm very happy to be a part of their team.”

Pasqualoni just finished his first season as UConn´s head coach after spending six years in the NFL with the Dallas Cowboys and Miami Dolphins. Along with his NFL experience, Pasqualoni finished his 14-year tenure at Syracuse as the program´s second-winningest coach with 107 victories.

Since its creation in 2004, Lauren’s First and Goal has raised more than $1 million. The foundation’s primary fundraiser is its annual football camps which will be held on June 3 at Lafayette College in Easton, Pa. and on June 17 at Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio.
